I’m embarrassed to say I can remember watching this show when it first aired in 2005. On “Stacked,” two brothers own a book store which includes a sassy coffee girl (Marissa Winokur), a brilliant regular (Christopher Lloyd), and a gorgeous but wild blond that they end up hiring (Pamela Anderson). This was filmed long enough ago that Pam was still looking more gorgeous and less rough, and though I’d love to hate the show, I ended up watching all 19 episodes. It’s a pretty standard sitcom- dumb laughs based on Anderson’s good looks, the nerdiness of the men, and the bitterness of the chubby coffee-girl, however the random scope of guests before they were celebrities and the ease with which one can watch the show means that it avoided disaster. Random guests include: Carmen Electra, Jenny McCarthy, John Francis Daley (Bones, Freaks and Geeks), Jayma Mays (Glee) and the bar shown in one episode was definitely McLaren’s from “How I Met Your Mother.”
Here’s one of my favorite exchanges in “Stacked”:
Gavin P. Miller: The guy cheated on you left and right; he’s completely meretricious.
Skyler Dayton: Professor?
Harold: Meretricious: it’s a word people use to say “Hey, look at me. I know the word meretricious.”
Anyway, the show is good eye candy if you like boobs and surprisingly good for a laugh!
I give this show 5 stars!
